Возле городка Нолл, отделённого от столицы Ниоды Страшным перешейком, учатся брат и сестра, Дирш и Рика. В Школе Боевых искусств их учат охотится на демонов. Хотя война с демонами из Нижнего мира окончена, и люди победили, демоны не истреблены до конца. Однако Диршу с Рикой доведётся узнать, что настоящая история гораздо сложнее, чем то, что преподают инструкторы.
DemonStory — одна из первых русских игр для RPG Maker 2000, и она во многом служила примером для последующих разработчиков. Хотя игра не была закончена, она показала многие нетривиальные возможности применения RPG Makerʼа 2000, которые позже стали привычными. А в наше время она является одной из первых игр, доступных под свободной лицензией: игра доступна на условиях CC BY-SA 3.0 (правда, это не относится ко многим ресурсам, лицензия на которые неясна).

Dirhe and Rica, two siblings, study demon-hunting in a School of Battle Arts near a town of Noll, separated from the capital of Nioda by a Terrible isthmus. Although the war with the demons of the lower world was won by the humankind, demons are not completely extinct yet. But Dirhe and Rica will have to find out that the real history is much more complicated than what their instructors teach.
DemonStory is one of the first Russian RPG Maker 2000 games, and it served as an example for many developers to come. Despite never being finished, it demonstrated many non-trivial features of RPG Maker 2000 that became common in the later games. And nowadays it is one of the first games available under a free license: it is available under the terms of CC BY-SA 3.0 (although many resources used are of questionable licenses).
